JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R/Pannacotta Fugo (2024)

Introduction

Pannacotta Fugo, a major ally in Vento Aureo, the fifth part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, is a rushdown character who focuses on doing explosive damage via combos alongside his Homicidal Virus: a feature unique to him, in which he emits a poison cloud that can harm both him and his opponent over time, making it a dangerous tool for both parties. Fugo does not boast a toolkit that allows him to play at range, meaning he has to get in to really get the game moving in his favor.

On offense, Fugo lets out his temper with violent attacks that, while not too damaging on their own, will lead to devastating damage when combined with his virus. Fugo can use his 3M to approach the opponent with an attack or use it in combos to follow up after "Friend or foe!", which causes a groundbounce against grounded opponents. He also has access to "Numbskull!", a hitgrab that allows him to follow up with an OTG hit afterwards to apply the virus once again. Fugo's HHA and GHA both deal a large amount of damage and also replenish the Homicidal Virus Capsules, making them great uses of meter for ending combos. All of these options are also enhanced by Purple Haze Distortion, an enhanced form that Purple Haze can take to deal increased damage with its Homicidal Virus.

On defense, Fugo does not boast anything unique or truly helpful outside of universal mechanics. While he has good normals for beating out aerial opponents, defense is not his strongest factor. This, combined with his sluggish movement while in Stand On, makes Fugo his best when he is in the opponent's face.

  • Homicidal Virus: Fugo's Purple Haze uses its Homicidal Virus to attack the opponent from the inside out, dealing damage over time with a poison effect.
  • Purple Haze Distortion: Fugo can evolve his Stand into Purple Haze Distortion, enhancing his special moves and the Homicidal Virus in order to deal devastating damage.

Playstyle

Pannacotta Fugo is a Stand character who utilizes his Homicidal Virus to poison the opponent, dealing damage over time as he lets out his violent side.
ProsCons
  • Poison Damage: Fugo's Homicidal Virus deals damage over time to the opponent, allowing him to deal extra damage during combos that would otherwise be doing nowhere near as much.
  • Purple Haze Distortion: Fugo can activate Purple Haze Distortion in order to enhance the damage of his special moves and Purple Haze's Homicidal Virus.
  • Rewards for Little Effort: Because Fugo's "Friend or foe!" can hit OTG, he can set up the Homicidal Virus off the simplest knockdowns, getting more damage for very simple interactions.
  • Friend or Foe...: Fugo's Homicidal Virus also affects him, which can potentially cause him to take more damage from the opponent's combos.
  • Proximity Required: Fugo does not have many good ranged options, and all of said ranged options involve Purple Haze moving forward, causing Fugo to struggle against zoners.

Homicidal Virus

Some of Fugo's moves release the Homicidal Virus as a poison cloud on the field; this poison cloud deals damage over time to anyone who entered its range, slowly draining their health bar (which will be colored purple while the poison is active). Once an affected player steps out of its range, the poison effect remains for a period of time, but it is not as strong. In its weakest form, the poison can deal a minimum of 40 damage, which can increase up to 75 damage in its strongest form.

In order to release the Homicidal Virus, Fugo must use up a Homicidal Virus Capsule, with the only exception being his HHA. Fugo can store up to 6 Homicidal Virus Capsules (which can be seen above his HH Gauge), and once Fugo is out of Capsules, he must replenish them by using either HHA or GHA; he cannot use the Homicidal Virus until they are back. This creates higher damaging combos for both players, as Fugo is also affected by the virus, but it still leans in his favor: as he is the one who activates the virus, Fugo can choose to only use the moves during his own combos to increase his own damage output.

Through either a unique move only available at low health or his GHA, Purple Haze can evolve into Purple Haze Distortion. In addition to significantly reducing the amount of damage Fugo receives from coming into contact with the Homicidal Virus (whether his own or an opposing Fugo's), this evolution increases the damage of several of Fugo's special moves and the potency of the Homicidal Virus (now dealing a consistent 100 damage), allowing Fugo to deal explosive damage and creating a real threat to the opponent at all times.
